This album speaks to me like nothing else today. It captures the modern experience of keeping anxiety and tension, anger and frustration under constant but uncertain control -- and those moments of triumph when we burn clear despite this condition and seem to express something that we recognize, at least while it lasts, as coherent and meaningful.

Brain melting. As far as Keiji’s projects are concerned, this is up there with Fushitsuasha - The wisdom prepared. Slow and hazy. Deep bass. The only issue I have is the singing in the last song. I could also see some people getting turned off by the gnarly sax-like thing in the first song. Does not succumb to super group syndrome. A harmonious and psychedelic effort. Almost 70 minutes.

Mocking Solemnity, Death Becomes You, and For Whom the Bell Tolls are great. SUNN O))) certainly don't do cover versions in the way other bands do, for sure! I wonder what Cliff Burton would have thought of it...? The four collaborations with Masami Akita/Merzbow aren't my thing, but if you are into it then you can find further collaboration on CroMonolithic Remixes for an Iron Age. "Time marches on..."
